Quotes from Gene Dobkin's Students

Quotes from Gene Dobkin's Students who attended the 2009 classes

I enjoyed the whole experience. Covered every procedure in an easy to understand way.
- Andrew Phillips

Opened my mind to new approaches - well worth doing.
- Janet Newman

Gene's easy teaching manner is most enjoyable. His descriptions of the moves and demonstrations make it very easy to follow. This training has completely turned Bowen on its head for me, and will completely change the way I approach clients' needs.
[The course] is an absolute must if you want to take this therapy to the next level. You don't have to abandon Bowen, but integrating what we have been taught will give us far more tools and help us to develop much quicker and much more effectively as practitioners/therapists
- Jan Mathers

Enjoyed the logic and freedom and common sense, non-restricted, and the idea of opposites . . . Definitely recommend it. Many thanks. Really looking forward to incorporating these.
- Jillian Watt

Very well paced, I never felt rushed or overwhelmed by information. Very relaxed presentation - never boring. The course I have most enjoyed, ever, and I have been on a few!
Just seemed perfect timing, I was getting terribly frustrated by current Bowen training - just straining at the leash to do something different. Now at last, I understand - or begin to understand - what I have been doing when using Bowen.
Loads of information - all clearly taught, lots of time to practice - amusing and extremely experienced tutors (Connie contributed a lot - really complemented Gene).
I feel very enthusiastic about getting to work with all this, and being able to play with it instead of looking over my shoulder . . .
- Byrony White

Having done Bowen Bridge 1 last year and incorporated most into my practice, I'm looking forward to incorporating this work. The whole pace of the course I found just right. Looking forward to Bowen Bridge 3 in 2010.
- Michael Watson

Acceptance of people [clients] as they are. Easy pace that keeps coming back to where we are, rather than a rigid structure. We are concentrating on what we are doing and taking appropriate action when difficulties arise. Feels natural.

You are treated as an individual with respect and your needs are acknowledged. It is easy to ask for help and it is forthcoming. All the techniques learned have impact. We learn the technique and how different parts of the body also have an influence on the condition treated - whole body stuff.
- Rosemarie Ward

Excellent course - try it, you'll love it.
- Angie Woodard

Gene, carry on the way you are. Most enjoyable courses I have attended.
- Jan Lloyd

Very inspirational. Great tools for working with.
- Elaine Allen

And here's some more quotes from people who attended in previous years
I use the work taught by Gene in practically every treatment
DONAL CAMPBELL

As a fresh-faced Bowen student, I looked for every scrap of paper that would let me understand how this stuff worked. Then I found Gene Dobkin and the Bowen Home Companion books that he wrote, which were and still are the finest and best piece of literature on the subject. Reading these books gave me a truly greater and far better understanding of the teachings of Tom Bowen. Gene Dobkin of course having studied with the original people that Tom taught has used this knowledge and his own research to produce both of these wonderful documents.

I would encourage every and any person who has an interest in Bowen to invest in their own copy of the books. After this, taking time to study with Gene as I have done for six years now has allowed me to become the respected practitioner that I hope is accepted by all who come to me for treatment. I cannot express my thanks for the gift that Tom Bowen has left us and the honesty and integrity of a truly wonderful teacher - Gene Dobkin.
JIM STEELE - TROON

I originally trained with Hilary Hinks and Julian Baker on the ECBS Bowen Practitioner course. I went on to study Equine Bowen Therapy with Beth Darrall (European College of Equine Bowen Therapy).
Always wishing to explore and test the boundaries on my skills and knowledge, Hilary suggested that I could expand my foundation in Bowen through attendance at the Bowen Bridge classes offered by Gene Dobkin.
I have been greatly rewarded from this experience finding that these Bowen Bridge classes have added a whole new dimension to my work. The mental stimulation from searching for the small subtle clues within my clients, both human and equine, has intensified my fascination to explore and understand.
The excellent results I have achieved with these new ways of working has created a strong feeling that Gene's work is truly amazing.
I want to continue to explore, to learn and to help ensure that other Bowen practitioners can have these opportunities available to them.
